Good foot-ware is required for the steep climbs and ascents, A good level of fitness is also necessary. There are no technically difficult sections however some of the steep ascents could become slightly slippery if walk conditions become damp or wet. Most of the terrain is along made up path and gravel access roads with some sections in forestry. Layers of clothing might be needed in exposed locations along the route. Waterproofs may also be required. Dogs are welcome along but their owners will be required to keep then on lead in areas likely to have sheep etc, also on bridleways shared by horse-riders.
