Step into the past and soak up the beauty of Almondell Country Park as we follow the Union Canal’s historic water supply route to the striking Lin’s Mill Aqueduct.
This scenic walk takes us along riverside paths (which may be muddy after rain), climbing a flight of steps to cross the aqueduct, before looping back along peaceful country lanes.
Along the way, we’ll uncover fascinating tales of the canal’s once-bustling wharf, the story of local plague victims, and the legendary William Wallace, one of Scotland’s national heroes.
Spaces are limited to 20 so it is essential to book a place with the Walk Leader by no later than the day before the walk & please state if you are wanting to join the car share at the time of booking.
For car share please meet in Livingston North Railway Station car park (Glasgow Side) at 6.25 pm
The walk will start from the Almondell Country Park North car park just off Roman Camp Road at 6.45pm.
