Overview

Our route takes us up Haggside before dropping into Woodlands Valley as far as Alport Bridge. We follow the delightful lower stage of Alport Dale and climb onto Lower Moor below Alport Castles. An optional scramble could take you up the Tower via the east face ( Grade 0.5?). Others can enjoy a well earned break and look out for the resident peregrines. A beautiful moorland section across Rowlee takes us back to Fairholmes via Lockerbrook Outward Bound centre.

Fairholmes , Ladybower Reservoir, which is the cafe and toilets, Free roadside parking is available as an alternative just before Fairholmes but at the time of writing I believe there may be plans to introduce charges.
