The walk runs from the urban centre of Longbridge through parkland, woods, sheep pastures in lovely Worcestershire countryside to the village of Alvechurch. It features a new retail park, Cofton Park, the Lickey Hills Visitor Centre, where there is a cafe and toilets, a little church, Upper Bittell reservoir, an alpaca farm and the Birmingham and Worcester canal.
We will follow pavements, parkland, woodland and field paths, tracks, lanes and the tarmac canal towpath.
There are climbs in Cofton Park and up to the Visitor Centre.
Post walk refreshments are available in the Weighbridge Inn near the station
We will take the train from Alvechurch to Longbridge where the linear walk begins. Fare is £2.30 payable to the Leader if booked in advance.
It would be helpful if you could let Pauline know if you intend to come so that she can book the necessary number of tickets.
