Overview

A moderate walk in lovely open countryside using a mixture of canal towpaths and fieldside paths.  We will pass close to both of the purported locations of the Battle of Bosworth, and through the picturesque village of Shenton.  No hills to speak of, but plenty of stiles.  Likely to be wet and muddy in parts, so do bring walking poles if you use them.

Meet at Sutton Cheney Wharf car park, Wharf Lane, Sutton Cheney. Parking is £3 - cash, card, or Pay by Phone app if you can get a signal. Suggest car sharing. There are toilets at the car park and the cafe opens at 9.30 for the early birds. Note: the postcode CV13 6DS is not very helpful for navigation; Royal Mail has CV13 0AL but this is not helpful either.  Wharf Lane is not very long, and the car park is well signposted at the southern end of Wharf Lane, just by the canal bridge.”
