A fairly easy walk on forest roads, tracks and paths. Leaving the car park, we follow the forest track for a while before going left onto a ForestryCommission 'road'. Follow this to the end, right turn onto a hill track which goes to the top of Ashiestiel Hill, right turn onto a rough track which goes to the top of the zig zag path in Elibank Forest, which we go down.
Walkers can either go straight back to car park or return via Elibank Castle ( adding 2 miles) or go back via the riverside path ( adding 4 miles).
