This coastal walk takes you from Auchmithie to Lunan Bay with the majority running along some wonderful cliff tops. The walk starts from the small fishing village of Auchmithie, a few miles north east of Abroath. From here we will head north east through the countryside to West Mains, and then follow the coast around to Ethie Haven. In this area we will also pass near Ethie Castle which dates back to around 1300. The final section runs north along Lunan Bay and beach, passes the remains of Red Castle and then crosses Lunan Water and finishes in the little hamlet of the same name.
The walk is on rough, uneven tracks, paths and field edges and involves climbing over fences/gates and crossing a burn.
As this is a linear walk we will meet at Lunan Bay and then take a few cars to the start of the walk at Auchmithie. At the end of the walk we will use the cars at Lunan Bay to return to the starting point to pick up the other cars.
