Overview

Most of this walk follows a section of the John Muir Way. It starts from Balloch Park on tarmac paths and after walking past Lomond Shores (where we'll have a tea break and comfort stop), ascends up a narrow country lane to the cross stone on Stoneymollan Muir, then forestry tracks and a woodland path onto Gouk Hill. On a clear day we should be rewarded with panoramic views of Loch Lomond. Unfortunately forestry works means we have to cut the walk short and after a break for lunch, return the way we came.
