Overview

A circular 8.5 mile walk starting at Ye Old Saracen's Head Balsall Common CV7 7AS. The route starts on the Millenium Way and onto the Heart of England Way, south to Oldwich House Farm. It then goes along country lanes and tracks to join the Grand Union canal where it goes northward passing the impressive Knowle Locks. The route leaves the canal at Kixley Wharf and crosses fields to Barston and back to the start. The route is flat with no stiles. Lunch break at the Kings Arms Knowle, located on the canal and refreshments available at the end of the walk.

Directions To Ye Old Saracens Head CV7 7AS - 16 miles from Sutton Coldfield Meet at Wyndley Swimming Pool car park 08:45 for car sharing. Follow own route to Stonebridge island where A452 crosses the A45. Continue on the A452 to the second island and take the third exit onto Bradnocks Marsh Lane. Continue onto Barston Lane, and at the junction turn left onto B4101 Balsall Street. The pub is 300 yards on the right. Park at the back of the car park.
