Celebrate the longest day of the year by joining us for a late afternoon walk, followed by a picnic. From the car park close to The Roman Crown (formerly Roman Park Residents Club), the walk will head south along the North Loughton Valley Park taking in Bradwell Abbey, around Lodge Lake and return via Bradwell Village.
There is no need to carry your picnic stuff; it can be left in the car. If you don’t want to walk but join us for a picnic at 6pm, that’s fine.
We will picnic on the grass between The Roman Crown and the site of the Roman Villa. There are some benches but it's best to bring something to sit on. Should it rain, there is plenty of shelter under the large trees.
The Roman Crown has given permission for us to use the toilets. The bar will be open to purchase alcoholic and soft drinks. Some people may wish to retreat there after the picnic.
Our picnic site is very close to the public petanque piste, so bring your boules if you want a game!
