Overview

This level, picturesque field and riverside walk is a real joy on a summer’s evening. After following wide tracks between fields with hedgerows garlanded with wild roses, the circuit reaches its furthest point at the bank of the river Ouse. The return route hardly ever leaves the water’s edge as it follows the Sussex Ouse Valley Way long-distance path through quiet pastoral scenery that lines the riverbank. Along the return leg, the way passes the splendid Anchor Inn.

Dogs with good recall are welcome.

An opportunity to visit the Royal Oak Pub, in Barcombe Village, after the walk.
