The path leads from Barnt Green train station through the Lickey Hills Country Park, which has existed for over a century with pines, birches and heather which can be reminiscent to parts of Scotland. This footpath will lead to the Lickey Hills visitor centre where toilets are available and information about the local geology, plant and wildlife. Unfortunately, the café was closed. We then follow the North Worcestershire Path through open countryside and head towards the A441, crossing the road and entering the grounds of the Westmead hotel where we can enjoy our packed lunch on wooden benches if we purchase hot drinks. Next, we join the Worcester and Birmingham Canal towpath for a stroll towards Bittell Farm, leaving the towpath we walk past Upper Bittell reservoir, then join a woodland path past the River Arrow before taking to fields again for the return to Barnt Green.
