Overview

Meeting at Bath Spa Railway station, we will take the bus to Bath Odd Down Park and Ride (Bus 41, bus pass or £3.60).    We will walk from the Park and Ride to South Stoke village and Midford to join the old Somerset and Dorset railway track, and walk the Combe Down tunnel (almost 1 mile long - a torch may be helpful as it is dark and also used by cyclists).   We will then walk through Lyncombe vale to Alexandra Park/Beechen Cliff for fine views over Bath, before walking down to the River Avon and former Green Park Railway station, the original terminal for the Somerset and Dorset railway, before returning to Bath Spa railway station.
