We are the Evesham Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Approx. 6.5 miles, relatively flat with a few ups and downs with approx. 3 stiles. NO DOGS PLEASE AS ON PERMISSIVE PATHS. We will be on river paths, fields and lanes with a little road walking. Starting outside Raphael's restaurant, bottom of boat lane, Hampton Ferry, Evesham at 9.30 A.M. Free car parking in field opposite Raphael's for those staying on for lunch, £3 for those that aren't or free Sunday parking at Merstow Green car park, top of Boat Lane opposite Waitrose. Note meet point by 9.15a.m. is in front of Raphael's.
Following on from The Battle of Evesham Medieval Festival the preceding weekend, the walk will follow the 5 mile around Evesham walk including Battle of Evesham sites and the 1.5 mile spur to the Leicester Tower, Obelisk and ice pond. Sarah W will be assisting on the walk.
Bring snacks and drinks for a midway stop with beautiful views (weather permitting!).
We will return to Raphael's for optional lunch around 1p.m, before having the opportunity to enjoy the outdoor 'pay as you feel' Mikron riverside community show 'Hush Hush' with a Bletchley theme on the lawn below starting at 2p.m. If walkers have their cars nearby that will be useful for BRINGING A CHAIR.
A provisional booking has been made at the restaurant which includes options for Sunday lunch.
PLEASE LET WALK LEADER (Linda) KNOW BY TUESDAY 5TH AUGUST IF WISHING TO BE INCLUDED IN LUNCH BOOKING.
Walkers are, of course, welcome just to come on the walk, have lunch, see show.
