On this straightforward and well waymarked hill-walk, we will stay on good forestry tracks as they circle the hill to the summit. We will pass through wooded areas, but extensive clear-felling allows for excellent views in clear weather. The climb is constant, mostly fairly gentle but with three steeper sections including the last pull to the top. A gentle pace should allow everyone to enjoy the ascent. Lunch at the top will hopefully allow us a 360 degree views with Loch Venachar at our feet and Loch Achray, Loch Lubnaig, Ben Ledi, Ben Venue and Ben A'an in the near distance. Please note, our track will lead us through West Carchonzie organic cattle farm, and we are likely to meet some cows along the way. We can also expect some 'muddy' sections! Local Grade B.
Ben Gullipen is classified as a “Tump”, which is a hill in the UK with at least a 30m drop from the summit to the nearest shoulder of land.
Car parking is limited so car-sharing is recommended. Please notify the walk leader by 9pm on Friday 8th November if you intend to join the walk.
