A hillwalk from Callander to the summit of this sub-2000 feet Marilyn on the very edge of the Highlands. The route takes us from the edge of this popular, attractive Stirlingshire town through woodland, coniferous forest and eventually open grass and heather moorland. The ascent is long and steady with ever increasing views of the hills, mountains and lochs of the Trossachs to the west and north and the lowlands to the south. The ridge we will walk is along the line of the Highland Boundary fault, a physical and cultural borderland.

This walk is on town streets to begin with, then on mostly good forest tracks with sections of narrower, grassy and heather paths. As we reach the summit of an exposed highland summit, this is a hillwalk requiring suitable hill gear, such as waterproof boots and warm clothing. Please bring a hat and gloves, with spares in your rucksack. There will be two stops for snacks and lunch, so you will need sufficient food and drink for a full day.
