A chance to head off the beaten track before exploring some surprisingly beautiful tracks and valleys around Brighton's eastern suburbs. Starting from near Bevendean school,we visit lovely Hogtrough Bottom and then enjoy the views from Bevendean Down. We cross Falmer Road and pass between Woodingdean and Bevendean using shared paths developed by the South Downs National Park and Brighton And Hove City Council to encourage better access for cyclists , walkers and rollers. We then descend back into Bevendean and again up onto Bevendean Down Nature reserve before returning to the start. The walk can be cut short above Falmer after 2 miles, or at The Avenue after 5 miles if walkers prefer. Some very steep climbs and descents- please wear strong grippy shoes or boots. No public toilets on route. Bring a snack and water for refreshments. Max 30.
Brighton and Hove Walking Festival walks must be pre booked. I strongly suggest you book once for all the walks you might want to go on and cancel later as there is a council survey to complete. Booking opens June 1
