Heather, Rocks, Stones and Monuments
4.3 miles and just one stile. Plenty to look at on this walk, as well as stunning views over the surrounding countryside. We will start the walk, downhill for half a mile and then continue our walk around Birchover and Stanton Moor, where we will be able to have a view of Rowton Rocks, The Heart, Cat, Duke of York, and Cork Stones. The Earl Gray Tower will feature as will The Nine Ladies. Also, included, a walk through the Heather to take a view from the Trig Point. Good well used paths all the way. Morning break after 2.2 miles on Stanton Moor Edge, where we will be able to have a good look, from the edge and of the Cat Stone.
Risk assessment We will cross the Birchover Road at The Druids, this on a slight bend, so take care. We will walk along short bits of very minor roads, Keep right, single file if there should be any oncoming traffic. Some paths are rocky, tripping hazard. Woodland paths have exposed tree roots, take care slippery if wet. Two of the Stones are near the edge, steep drop, take care if you are viewing these whilst taking pictures. One field with Cows, very used to human traffic, keep to field path. 07918882152 my contact number whilst walking.
