Overview

We begin in the sand dunes, then a stretch along the beach past the habitat of the Natterjack toads. 

From Ainsdale we follow the Trans Pennine Trail to the Sefton Coastal Path past the Royal Birkdale Golf Course.

The walk is flattish, but because it goes through the dunes it's quite moderate rather than leisurely. We have to cross the coast road twice. Anyone wishing to travel by train should come to Hillside station and walk along Waterlooo Road to turn Left into Selworthy Road.
