A hilly but rewarding linear walk showcasing some of the highlights of the Yorkshire Wolds – please check the meeting point and travel arrangements below carefully.
We start with a steep climb from Bishop Wilton – it's worth pausing a couple of times on the way up to look behind you and enjoy the views (and definitely not because you're out of breath, oh no!). We then head for a route through access land at Deep Dale, and on to Sylvan Dale where we can have lunch overlooking the gorse-covered valley. After lunch, we pick up the Minster Way, and follow it through Millington to the delightful St Ethelburga's church at Givendale, and then back to Pocklington along the Chalkland Way.
This walk enjoys great views across the Wolds and the Vale of York, and we should get to see plenty of wildlife and wildflowers.
