Overview

A 9 mile walk around parts of Dudley, with particular reference to its industrial heritage.

The walk will start in Saltwells nature reserve and go along the Dudley canal, stopping for coffee at the Visitors’ Centre (run by volunteers all money raised goes towards the canal maintenance). From the canal we climb 140 metres to the top of Turner’s hill, where we will enjoy views across the Black Country to Dudley castle.

The lunch break will be in Netherton where you can eat your lunch in the park or make use of the local pub, (The Swan aka Ma Pardoe’s).

We then return to the start via Warren’s Hall nature reserve.
