By TBR standards, and containing nearly 2000 feet of ascent, this walk sits right on the cusp between moderate and strenuous.
We start the walk with an ascent. This provides us with good views (on a clear day) of Ogmore Vale right from the start.
We walk past Bryn y Wrach (Witches Hill) and Glyn y Glowr (Miner's Valley) and then along Craig Llyscwmllorwg above Lewis Town. We eventually drop down to Wyndham before climbing up the other side of the valley and winding our way around Ogmore Forest, before skirting around Pant-yr-Awel and back to Blackmill.
There are a handful of stiles. Dogs are welcome but need to be kept on a lead for the first half of the walk. There are boggy parts near the river in Ogmore Woods, despite the very long dry spell we've had (I recced this at the end of August). There is also a lot of bracken in parts so if it's been wet, bring waterproofs to keep dry as we walk through it all.
