Blantyre, David Livingston Ctr to Uddingston. Long Walk

Meet at David Livingston Centre Blantyre
10.30 am Friday 5June toilets and coffee available at the Centre
Walk starts by leaving the centre and turning left short walk to the David Livingston Bridge
Cross the bridge then turning left on to a woodland path with river on your left walk along the path then climb a small incline
at the top turn left and continue on the woodland path with views across the river soon you will see Bothwell Castle we go up another small incline pass the Castle on our right continue alone the path until we reach Uddingston Grammar School on the right
Their is a small metal bridge on the left do not cross the bridge but continue alone the path to a railway bridge we go alone the side of the bridge then turn right on to a path behind houses this brings use out to a road we turn right passing the school on the right
We continue on the pavement crossing the road then uphill at the top go left and left again you will see the Church pass the church it should be on you left walk alone  the pavement same side as church cricket club on the right continue alone the pavement passing small estates of houses continue on until you see a sign for Bothwell Castle cross the road and go up the driveway to the Castle this is lunch stop after lunch go down steep path on left of Castle and back to the river side path this time river on the right go back alone woodland path at one point on the path you will go up hill houses on your left watch for a path on the right down hill not the first but second down hill path then turn left and the path will return you  to the David Livingston Bridge then you cross back over to the Centre end of walk
