Directions: (primarily for our own members or anyone approaching from the A52 Ashbourne to Leek road).
The start is located approximately 6 miles north-west of Ashbourne. The easiest main road route option from Ashbourne onwards is below which avoids the minor roads shortcut from Mayfield to the start via Okeover Park.
Via the A515 northbound to Ashbourne. At the first island on the outskirts of town turn left signed for Leek A52, then after 0.25 mile turn left again, still A52 for Leek.Continue on the A52 for 0.8 mile to Mayfield. You may prefer to travel via Rugeley, Uttoxeter, and Rocester to Mayfield, latterly on the B5032, which joins the A52 here.
From Mayfield proceed north-west on the A52, direction Leek, for 3.8 miles via Swinscoe to the next crossroads where turn acute right signed well in advance for Ilam. After 1.5 miles turn left signed for Ilam, Dovedale, & Wetton and proceed for 350 yards where the car park is situated on your right marked Blore Pastures car park. This is the first of the three car parks here. Please use this one so that we don't miss you.
