Meet at Main St car park, Cruden Bay. Catch the 61 bus at 1046 from Cruden Bay to Boddam (to be confirmed). Bring any bus passes.
Alight from the bus at Rocksley Drive, Stirling Village. Walk down Rocksley Drive to join a path across the fields and onto the track of an old railway line. Follow this to the Longhaven Cliffs Nature Reserve and along their cliff top path to the Bullers of Buchan. Should be good views of birds nesting on the cliffs below. Continue on the cliff top path to the ruins of Slains Castle, linked with the novels of Bram Stoker, including Dracula. Return to Cruden Bay.
Note - the cliff top path is narrow in places with a steep drop to one side. The railway track is rough and can get overgrown.
