Overview

This train walk will allow Mid Berks members to travel from Reading or Wokingham to discover the history of some of the west of the City of London. We will wander along old streets and lanes that have been there for centuries, churches that did or did not survive the Great Fire of London in 1666, Wren designs, historic sites of the old Livery companies, or of public executions, walk in Shakespeare's footsteps all within sight of St Paul's - just a few examples of the day.

The walk is at a leisurely pace and is a flat walk but will be a longish day with travel and we are expected  to be back at Waterloo by approximately 16:30. to catch the train back to Wokingham/Waterloo. You can bring a packed lunch but there are plenty of food outlets in London. Please bring adequate water for a summer walk and suitable footwear.
