We cross fields and along woodland paths, pass abandoned collieries and walk part of the historic Dramway. This will lead us to the interesting Brandy Bottom Colliery and its distinctive 25 metre high boiler chimney. This is an English Heritage-listed archaeological site which is being preserved by the Avon Industrial Buildings Trust.
We will then make our way back towards the Community Centre where we can enjoy a drink in the Star Inn.
Some uneven ground, (due to recent dry weather, one field is very cracked and uneven), and a couple of inclines, so bring walking poles if you use them.
Please remember to bring your ICE (In Case of Emergency) cards, or ask the leaders for one.
Many thanks to Kingswood Ramblers for inviting us to join this walk.
