Overview

We begin by walking through Brayton Barff and enjoying the profusion of bluebells, then cross the busy A63 via a pedestrian bridge and follow the Selby Horseshoe trail down to Selby Canal. We then walk along the canal footpath for over a mile to Paper House Bridge.  From here we follow farm tracks through a wood to the lovely village of Gateforth  and our picnic lunch stop. Leaving the village we pass a couple of farms, cross a high speed train track via a pedestrian bridge and walk along field paths, eventually returning to Mill Lane.
