A walk from Brechfa Pool descending to Llyswen then following the River Wye from Boughrood to Tericket Bridge. From this point the walk ascends to to the trig point on Mynydd Fforest then follows tracks and trail to the start.
I would advise walking poles because the descent from Brechfa Pool can be slippery after rain.
The grading is Strenuous although this would be considered as Moderate plus by Taff Ely Ramblers.
The left turn to Brechfa Pool (assuming traveling from Brecon) from the A470 is not easy to spot since it is not signposted but it is almost immediately after a sharp right-hand bend where the road straightens. This quite a fast section of road so take care The gently rising 1.5Km/1mile road to the pool area is fairly narrow but has passing places.
