Starting at Brinscall baths, boots on and 10.30am start...This is a circular, scenic 7.5 mile walk, with a mixture of quiet roads, undulating, and well trodden paths. We walk along the side of quarries, through farmland and along the paths of Roddleworth Wood. We then ascend Great Hill, 381 metres. This is a short but steep climb, therefore a good level of fitness is required, there will be muddy areas and a couple of small gully`s to cross, as we climb Great Hill before taking the paths back to Brinscall. There are styles to climb, of which care is needed. Please expect cattle grazing, and certainly sheep on the moors. Some of the paths have exposed stones and tree roots. A 20 minute lunch break will be taken at the top of Great Hill before the final 2.5 miles down hill walk, skirting Wheelton, and Heapy Moor.
Full leg covering is recommended, and walking poles maybe useful. On a clear day we should be able to see the fells of the lake district, Yorkshire, Winterhill, and the coast at Blackpool
