Overview

This walk is one of the Worcestershire Rail Trails. As you may know the Monarch's Way runs conveniently close to the station where we will start our walk, reaching countryside quickly. Quiet lanes lead us up to the top of the Tardebigge Flight of locks, the longest flight in the UK, raising the canal by 220ft over 2.25 miles. We will follow 21 locks down the towpath, and then leaving at the Queens Head, Stoke Pound, will cross through more countryside and a modern housing development back to the station. As I remember there may have been one stile, kissing gates were in abundance. Ascent about 110 feet - where the lane leads up to the canal.
