Overview

Broompark to Bearpark

An easy(ish) 5 mile walk with good paths for most of the route and few stiles. Starting from the Broompark picnic site, we will join the Deerness Valley Railway path, heading east for about ½ mile before turning north. There is some mud on this next stretch as we make our way between fields towards the Lanchester Valley Railway path and Bearpark. The paths are good for a winter walk as we head south east to walk along the bank of the river Browney, and make our way back to Broompark. Refreshments afterwards will be at the Tea Barn, Pity Me Nursery, DH1 5GZ.
