We will meet at a carpark on Walkhampton Common on the B3212 between Princetown and Yelverton. Heading south we pass Sharpitor and Leather Tor which those who wish can clamber up for the views. From there we continue on tracks and quiet lanes around the southern end of Burrator Reservoir and ascend Sheeps Tor which would be great for a coffee stop if the weather is kind. The next section descends into woodland past Leather Tor Bridge to emerge again into open moorland. Crazy Well Pool is quite magical and will probably be our lunch stop. We then follow tracks heading north, cross the Devenport Leat and continue to Hart Tor. The final leg crosses the B3212 and joins a section of the Dartmoor Way following a disused railway line back to the start point.
This walk is not particularly difficult unless you chose to ascend the Tors and could also be cut short to 9 miles with a little car shuffling.
Coffee & lunch stops. Less than 5 stiles.
