Overview

Area Sunday Strenuous Walk - Distance over 10 miles

In our summer programme of walks in 2023 the Area will be visiting 8 of the 9 highest peaks in the Peak District, over 3 different walks. This walk takes in Shining Tor (559m) and Axe Edge Moor (551m), the 7th & 8th highest. This involves a lot of ascent and descent and as the walk is quite lengthy it demands a fair level of fitness. But on a fine day there are some rewarding fine views of the White Peak and beyond.
