Meeting time & place: 10.35 at Manchester Piccadilly station to catch the 10.45 train to Marple.

Start time & place: 11.06 at Marple station straight after the arrival of the train from Manchester.

Estimated finish time: no later than 15.00.

Difficulty: Easy,

Distance – 4.5 miles.

Note: walkers are advised to check one of the rail websites such as nationalrail or trainline close to the departure time in case of late changes to the running of the train.

Train ticket - both stations are within the Greater Manchester boundary so the best ticket will depend on concessions &/ other journeys made on the day. From Piccadilly it is a Marple return.

Car Use / Parking - Available at Marple station.

Walk Route - Marple station, Lake Road, Community Farm, Roman Lake, along River Goyt, Strines Road, Plucksbridge Road, Peak Forest Canal, A626, Memorial Park, Marple station.

This circular walk includes a stop at The Garden House Marple Charity and Community Farm - home to a variety of animals including pigs, alpacas, rabbits, goats, Shetland ponies and more. There is also a play area, a sensory garden and riverside walk. 

Families with children over 8 years old are most welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult, no more than two children per adult.
