This walk has been cancelled as many walkers cannot attend on this date as it coincides with the funeral of one of our Group members. It will be rescheduled on a different date in the Summer programme or the new one from September.

Join us for an exhilarating walk to the top of one of Wales’s easier mountain peaks with spectacular views across Mid Wales. Cadair Berwyn has a beautiful cirque lake plus glorious waterfalls including Pistyll
Rhaeadr, one of the biggest in the UK. Descend via the County Top of Moel Sych (we know its sounds daft to take in a hill downhill but trust us). This is a mountain walk so some sections will be a long gradual up hill climb or a steep short stretch (up and down). The walk has a long stepped descent from the waterfall. If you like using walking poles bring them along and boots are essential. However, we will take it gently, we always walk at the pace of the slowest with catch up rest points and a chance to take a photo. Some paths can be a bit boggy and uneven in places but in summer path conditions are usually good. The walk is 6 miles and 600m of ascent overall. A good introduction to beginning walking in the Welsh Hills. Toilets are available at the start and end of the walk. Cafe/ tea shop visit after (optional).
Car share from Forge Retail Park 9.30am can be organised. Car sharing strongly advised as £5 per car park and narrow approach road can can get very busy. Please bring drink, snack and packed lunch as this is an 'all day' walk.
