Overview

The walk starts at Cambridge North Station and follows the riverside path towards Fen Ditton, a picturesque village with historic ties to the River Cam. From there, continue towards Horningsea on a scenic circular route.

Along the way, we  trace parts of the route once served by the Cambridge to Mildenhall railway line, now lost to time. Opened in 1884, this rural branch line once linked Cambridge with Mildenhall, serving fenland villages and carrying agricultural goods. Passenger services ceased in 1962, and freight ended in 1964.

Some sections may be muddy after rain, so sturdy footwear recommended.  Contact walk leader Sushma on 07975846715 if you have any questions.
