We are the Richmond Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Linear walk. Moderate pace. The route goes from CW station to the Thames and then along the river to Greenwich foot tunnel. Once in Greenwich we'll walk into Greenwich Park to enjoy a great view of London and some lovely flower beds (and maybe some deer), and then out of the park back to the river and a riverside walk to North Greenwich/02 Arena. There are many interesting sights, along the way, and I’ll share some information about the ones I know. Lunch (30 minutes - sometime between 12 and 1pm) will be taken somewhere in Greenwich or along the Thames Path, so please bring a packed lunch. Toilets should be available in Greenwich Park and at the 02 Arena. There are numerous potential opt out points along the way, with regular bus services close to the path, and train/DLR stations not too far from the path. All within the Oyster/Freedom Pass area. Estimated Finish: 3pm at North Greenwich Underground Station. (Our finish point offers the opportunity to extend the day by utilising the cable car across the Thames. But that's up to each walker
MEET: Reuters Plaza, just outside the main exit of Canary Wharf Station (Jubilee Line). (SWR Richmond 9:30, or 9:45 recommended for timely arrival). I’ll stand next to the large 3D “Canary Wharf” sign). Toilets are usually open in the shopping mall on the south side of the station (at same level as ticket barriers). Please use them before joining the walk. (If you prefer, the CW, DLR and Elizabeth Line Stations are a few minutes walk away from the meet point). START: 10:30. Please arrive earlier to ensure you are ready for a prompt start.
