Overview

A local walk again this Sunday. A circular walk on Cannock Chase from our starting point at Milford Common.

A generally leisurely walk, with a couple of not too steep inclines, on mainly good paths with a little mud in places. No stiles.

Loo's available approximately a 100 yard walk from the start across the common in Brocton Lane.

An all day parking charge of £3.50 applies here at the machine. Cash only.

Post walk refreshments venue to be advised on the day.

Directions:- The start is located at Milford Common public car park situated just off Brocton Lane, Milford near its junction with the A513 Rugeley to Stafford road. Well known to most local walkers. From Cannock pick up the A34 northwards and proceed to Brocton Crossroads some 200 yards after passing The Chetwynd Arms on your left. Turn right into Sawpit Lane, signed for Brocton and Milford and continue for 1.75 miles to eventually drop downhill into Milford on Brocton Lane where the car park is located in the open space on your right some 200 yards before the junction with the A513. From Hednesford, Rugeley, & Lichfield. Pick the A460 at Rugeley, and continue on the A460, direction Stone, to follow the course of the road for 1.5 miles until the island with the A51 where bear left. Proceed on the A51 for 0.9 mile to the double mini-islands at The Wolseley Arms pub where bear left onto the A513 signed for Stafford. Continue for 3.75 on the A513 miles over Cannock Chase to Milford and Milford Common where turn left at the mini-island into Brocton Lane. Proceed for 200 yards then turn left into the car park entrance.
