This is a leisurely, linear walk from Grove Park Station to Crystal Palace Station.
The route passes through much of the northern end of Bromley Borough, using quiet residential streets, part of the remains of the Great North Wood and four parks and recreation grounds.
Bring a packed lunch. There are plenty of places to eat a packed lunch, but no suitable pubs or cafés until we reach Crystal Palace Park after 7.8 miles.
We walk around the park, visiting the Dinosaur Park and the route ends at Crystal Palace Park Station, after 8.3 miles. The station may not be the most convenient place to return home. There are buses on the main road at the top of the park. There are various alternative stations nearby. For instance, I intend to walk back to Penge East station, which we passed. earlier. This adds just over a mile to the walk, making it 9.5 miles overall, but offers a direct line to Orpington, stopping at various other stations on the way.
Meet outside the station.
The walk ends at the station. Penge East station may be more convenient for getting home. We pass this station on the route, less than a mile from the end.
