Overview

A walk on mainly good tracks along two ridges with great views and quaint Dorset villages.
On leaving the car park, we’ll briefly walk on the road before taking a track that leads to Up Cerne and on to the ridge. The views are stunning on a good day but we may not be that lucky this week! We’ll continue to head north through the woods with views of Minterne Magna house.

The path, which can be muddy, follows the road before we pick up the Wessex Ridgeway and then descend to Sydling St Nicholas for lunch. A long hill awaits, taking us back up to the Ridgeway which we will follow for a while before heading back to Cerne Abbas.

Optional refreshments in the village pub.

The walk is mainly on good tracks but will be muddy in places. There are a couple of long steep hills.
