A walk through 7 of the villages of the Chess Valley which although very familiar to most are always delightful. Some fields, some woods and some minor roads and tracks. Frequently lovely views. Not too hilly and not too long so time to enjoy the scenery and surroundings and hopefully an ice cream and coffee opportunity on the way!
This is a circular walk and convenient for public transport (Metropolitan Line) and by car. The station car park costs £6 for the day and payment is by the “PaybyPhone” app. Free parking further away can be found. Bring a picnic lunch but refreshments can be found on route. Although much of the route is dry underfoot, one area is still boggy so good walking boots and possibly sticks are recommended. At this same point, we may need to climb through a wide-spaced barbed wire fence to avoid a flood. Not hard but some bending is required!
