Overview

Stanmore has a wealth of open spaces, and it feels like the countryside without leaving the London Borough of Harrow. We start in Bentley Priory and then take in Stanmore Country Park and Pear Wood, which is designated as an ancient woodland and has a nice lake. Then we come to Wood Farm, and we will stop for a break at the viewpoint, from where you can see The Shard on a clear day. The final section is Stanmore Common, which takes us back to the car park.

Meet in the free car park in Warren Lane. This is not so easy to find from the postcode. If you access Warren Lane from The Common(A4140), it is very near the start of Warren Lane, on the left. Look for a big yellow gate. The starting point can also be accessed via bus 142 from Stanmore Station, which stops at Priory Drive, very near the car park.
