Overview

Starting from Chapmanslade we head out of the village down a lane towards Black Dog Woods passing near a small nature reserve and on to meet the A36 Warminster Road. Care must be taken when crossing this very busy road. Once across the A36 we continue on through several fields which maybe muddy if any earlier rainfall. to arrive at the village of Dilton Marsh and continue through the village to the local recreation field. Leaving the playing field we then head up past Chalcot House and estate to the hamlet of Short Street. Going through Short Street eventually coming out onto the Frome/Westbury road (A3098). Again care must be taken when crossing this road to get access to the former golf course on the Thoulstone estate. We walk through the old course to again cross back over the A36 road back towards Chapmanslade. Progressing through several fields back into Chapmanslade then via Huntenhull Green, finally returning back up a track to our starting point.
