First couple of miles along a quiet road bordering open moorland. Leave road at the Aneurin Bevan memorial onto open moorland coffee break alongside brook with lovely views .Proceed with a slight gradient upwards towards the bronze age burial circle. There are amazing views looking towards the Beacons. From here we will walk across the moorland ,upwards toward the path taking us to the caves. Here we will have lunch before taking the path back towards the village of Trefil. We will be then looking across the moorland with views of the whole of the heads of the valley.
Easy walking, no styles, dogs, must be kept on leads at all times, number of sheep and ponies grazing on the moorland. Local farmers have warning notices about loose dogs worrying sheep. At the end of walk those who wish can enjoy refreshment at the local pub, Top House.
