We are the Greater Manchester & High Peak Area Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Area Sunday Moderate Walk. Distance generally 7 to 9 miles.
Linear walk. No booking required.

Meeting place & time - 9.45 at Manchester Piccadilly station for the 9.57 train to Cheadle Hulme
Start of walk - Cheadle Hulme station after the arrival of the 9.57 from Piccadilly due at 10.11
Note - walkers are advised to check one of the rail websites such as nationrail or trainline close to the departure time in case of late changes to the running of the train
Train ticket - this will depend on how individuals get to Piccadilly / Cheadle Hulme. You need to bear in mind that Cheadle Hulme and Disley are not on the same line so a simple return ticket is not available.
Car parking - because of the point above it is not recommended to drive to Cheadle Hulme but you could park in Stockport as both trains will pass through there.
Walk route - Cheadle Hulme, Bramhall Park, Happy Valley, Poynton Lake (probable lunch stop), Higher Poynton, Lyme Park, Disley
Expected time of arrival in Disley - about 4.00pm
Additional notes -walking boots and clothing (waterproof jacket in wet weather) essential. Please bring lunch and non-alcoholic drinks.
