Area Sunday Short Walk. Distances are generally 4 to 6 miles.

Meeting time & place: 09.40 at Manchester Piccadilly station to catch the 09.47 train to Disley, should depart from platform 9.

Start time & place: 10.30 at Disley station (or later if the train from Piccadilly is delayed). The leader will join the walk at Disley.

Estimated finish time at Disley: no later than 15.00 to catch the 15.24 train to Manchester Piccadilly.

Difficulty: Easy.

Distance – approx 5 miles / 8.5 km, including two climbs each of about 300 ft.

Note: walkers are advised to check one of the rail websites such as nationalrail or trainline close to the departure time in case of late changes to the running of the train.

Train ticket - return to Disley (if you have a GM concessionary travel card this can be from Middlewood).

Car Parking - Available at Disley station. Please note, charges (£3.00 low rate tariff for 4-6 hours) apply in some parts of the car park though there is a section where there is free parking on a Sunday.

Walk Route - To be advertised. Please note that the climbs referred to above are not open to alteration. The route includes two (out & return) level stretches along the Peak Forest canalside. 

Walk title is "Goyt Valley Views".
