Overview

Typical Chilterns mix of valleys and hills. At the time of the recce some paths were VERY muddy and slippery- poles recommended but hopefully things may dry out by June 2nd. I counted twelves stiles and one was very wobbly. We will need to cross two busy roads and the final half mile is alongside a busy road but that can’t be avoided. Otherwise beautiful scenery with great wildlife and flora in view. We will stop for lunch at Little Missenden which has a pub for those who might wish to stop for a drink. There is also a fabulous 10th century church which is well worth a visit.

Meet at the War Memorial statue at the junction of The Broadway and High Street. This is just around the corner from the tube station exit. Leave the station and walk down the hill along Station Road- at the bottom of the street the War Memorial can be seen on the right. The train takes about one hour from Kings Cross and is free to those who have a Sixty Plus Oystercard or Freedom Pass. Free parking is also available on Sundays and the car park is no more than fifty metres from the Meeting Point. Toilets are available at the car park and station and pre walks coffees are available from several nearby places.
