Overview

A shortish walk with coffee stop that passes through Syde and Brimpsfield. En route we follow the nascent river Frome and pass by the mainly 12c church of St. Mary the Virgin with its fine 15c nave roof.  At Brimpsfield the earthworks of the Giffard castle can be seen, and nearby is the church of St. Michael, originated by the Giffards and later donated to Eton College.
