Welcome to the Cleeve group. We are based around Cleeve Hill in Gloucestershire and cover the area that ranges from Tewkesbury in the north, to Tirley in the west, Stanton in the east and Cheltenham in the south.
Cleeve Group 40th Anniversary
In order to celebrate our anniversary and to thank you for your continued support of the Ramblers, the Committee is planning to put on 2 walks, followed by tea, coffee and cake at Southam Village Hall on Sunday, 18 August 2024.
We hope that, even if you do not wish to participate in the walks, as many of you as possible will be able to join us for the afternoon celebration and meet up with old friends.
Further details will be sent to you in due course, but in the meantime, please note the date in your diary and we hope to see you there!
Our walks
We’re lucky to be surrounded by three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - The Cotswolds, The Malvern Hills and The Wye Valley – and three rivers of note – The Severn, the Avon and the Wye. So, our walks offer a spectacular variety of countryside to enjoy.
We lead walks every Sunday and on the first Wednesday of the month. The Sunday walk is typically 7-10 miles, within 25 miles of Cleeve Hill and often includes a stop en-route for well-earned picnic lunch.
The Wednesday walks usually not more than 5 miles, are closer to home and typically end with lunch in a pub or café.
There are normally between 10-20 of us heading out together, with usually a few more women than men.
Join our walking community
We welcome visitors, especially those who are not currently Ramblers members. Walk details include contact details for the leader, so if you have any queries then please make contact. Otherwise just turn up at the start point, introduce yourself to the leader, and enjoy the experience.
It’s not just the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful landscapes, our members enjoy a range of social events, and there are volunteering opportunities as well, including path maintenance, the Don’t Lose Your Way campaign and walk leading.
